Emotional Freedom Technique

​

Tapping, also known as Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT is a somatic therapy technique using acupressure to remove emotional barriers. Instead of using needles, simple tapping with the fingertips is used on specific meridians on the upper body while focusing on a specific problem–whether it’s a specific event, a physical pain or a specific issue etc. While tapping, you voice the negative emotions you are feeling about your problem, then switch to positive affirmations. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

 

Through this process we release emotions and sensations stored in the body. It's not necessary to talk through the entire issue, but to bring up a part of it that creates sensations and emotions. One aspect will bring up another, peeling back the layers, until stressful memories are no longer charged in the body.

As we create new patterns of responding in the body, new ways of responding to life's possibilities and challenges become possible. Tapping is accessible to you, every day, all day.
